St Clement Danes

Sullo Strand, all'intersezione con Aldwych, sorge questa chiesa, originariamente progettata da Christopher Wren, bombardata durante la seconda guerra mondiale e ricostruita nel dopoguerra.

Alle 9, alle 12 e alle 15 le campane suonano una musica che riecheggia una popolare filastrocca che enumera le chiese della City:

"Oranges and lemons

Say the bells of St Clement's

You owe me five farthings,

Say the bells of St Martin's

When will you pay me?

Say the bells of Old Bailey

Say the bells of Shoreditch

When will that be?

Say the bells of Stepney

I do not know,

Says the great bell of Bow
